I never thought I'd live in a country where in my adulthood I would see a state ban abortion, even if the woman has been raped or is a victim of incest. Every day in this country, this country where we claim to value freedom and democracy even as we come up with diabolical ways to enslave ourselves and divest ourselves of these rights, we become a little more like the so-called Islamo-fascists we are supposedly at war against, especially in our attitiudes towards women. Every liberal person, every woman really, should be shocked at the events in South Dakota. The law is a test designed to bring down Roe v. Wade and with Bush packing the Court full of shady neocons with an agenda, every woman in America--every person really--should see this as a very real threat.

Give money to NARAL, write your congressperson, call into a political talk show. Now is the time to mobilize all good people against the evil that is trying to take away our personal freedom of choice under the cloak of moral and religious superiority.
